Nails can be instrumental in creating that special effect to add a touch of glamour and extra appeal to your dress and appearance. It is again the nails that attract all the attention towards your hands and so, why to ignore them while you are getting ready for your first date or about to attend an interview. Whether you are all set to go for a casual night out with your group of friends or have a grand wedding reception to attend it is essential to dress up your nails. Just add some of your creative imaginations with the following nail design tips and in no time you shall be the center of all attraction wherever you go.

• The first and foremost things that you need to do are select and match a color that would accentuate your outfit. Try some metallic colors for making your nails attractive and depth to the shades by alternating clear polish and coats. You may also experiment with the colors by adding and mixing different colors. Metallic grays and silver make a great combination over black while shades or reds add a touch of richness and elegance over a coat of gold.
• No matter whatever color combination you choose make sure that one coat is completely dry before you apply the next.
• Try and avoid using glue decorations to your nails be it directly on your nails or on the layers of polish. Glue usually tends to eat through your nail polish and affect the health of your nails.
• Try painting pens over coated nail colors for drawing designs on the nails. Do not hesitate to let your imagination flow and experiment with the designs.
• To create an impressive look, try nail piercing. It is advisable to use the piercing tool to ensure the minimum damage to your nails and weakening them. Moreover, piercing tools generally do not cause splits that are more than what a razor blade tip or a pin may cause. Before making the hole, do not forget to apply a few coats of polish. Also, try and avoid making the hole near the nail sides or tips so that you do no end causing splits in your nails.
• For bringing a trendy look, stick a band-aid on your nail on top of a dry coat of nail colorafter you have cut it into different patterns. Apply a different color on the band-aid and the previous color and wait till it dries up completely. Once the color has dried up, peel off the band-aid to get a designed pattern of the lower coat.
• Use a tooth-pick to touch up your nails with fine designing patterns with the help of nail colors. You can also use nail brushes specifically designed for decorating the nails and various kinds of nail arts. However, the tooth-pick will surely give you a better grip to manage and draw your designing patterns.
• If you have long nails, color the underside of your nails with a contrasting color to the one you have chosen for your top coat. It is best if you choose an accentuating color for the underside and a dominant one for the top coat. Such color combinations can bring a great effect, especially on dance floors.
